The Dante Society of Westerly is once again offering its educational grants for in-class activities relating to Italian studies.
Eligibility: All teachers of Elementary, Middle, and High Schools in the area. Westerly Schools, St. Michael, Pawcatuck and The Prout Schools.
Rules: Projects must relate to the mission statement of the Dante Society, which is to preserve and foster students’ awareness of the Italian language and culture.
Requests should be limited to permanent materials (excluding computers, cell phones, iPads, and other technological devices) for the class. Please be as specific as possible. For each item, include the name of the company, description of the requested materials, plus shipping and tax, (if necessary). If an online item, please list the website.
For example, Italian magazines subscriptions, Italian audio/video materials, Italian books to enrich the program of study including games, puzzles, music, etc. are some great ideas. (Non-permanent items such as foods, transport or craft materials are not accepted).
Applications may be submitted now until the first of January.
Grants will be awarded in January.
