SUMMARY:2026 Johnny V's Meatball Challenge and Pasta Dinner
DESCRIPTION:  \n\nThe Dante Society of Westerly hosts the 2nd Annual Johnny V’s Meatball Challenge and Pasta Dinner\, where diners vote in a blind taste test for their favorite meatball.\n\n\nLast year was a sellout! – AND SO IT IS THIS YEAR! \n\nTICKET AVAILABILITY UPDATE (July 23):   Online tickets sold out on July 22; The last tickets at the Chamber of Commerce were sold July 23.  The 2026 Meatball Challenge is Sold Out. \n\nTICKET AVAILABILITY UPDATE (July 19):   Online tickets sold out late on Saturday\, July 18.  We have reallocated some tickets from the Chamber to the online sales.  As of noon on Sunday\, July 19\, a limited number of tickets are again available online.  Tickets are still available at the Chamber.  See below for details for online purchase and in-person purchases at the Chamber. \n\n  \n\n\n\nThree sponsoring contestants are participating in the challenge.\nThe contestant will be assigned one of 3 colors (green\, white\, and red) on the day of the contest\, and each of their meatballs will have a small flag with that color to identify it.\nEach ticket has a stub which is the ballot to vote for your favorite of the 3\nIt is a buffet style dinner\, served from a service table\, with open seating.  Doors will open at 4:00 PM (They cannot be opened any earlier).\nYou do not need to wait for the results as we will publish on our web site and Facebook page later that evening as to who was selected as the peoples’ choice for favorite meatball as well as which color was assigned to each sponsor.\nTickets are $30/person.  Tickets may be purchased at the Chamber of Commerce (cash/check) or online using the button below in the Ticket Information Section.\n\n\nSponsoring Contestants\nBuon Appetito\nCasa Della Luce\nHilltop Café\nAfter the event:\n\nThe winner will be listed here\nThe color associated with each sponsor will be listed here\n\n\n\nTicket Information\n\nEach ticket contains 2 parts: one part for the dinner and a second part that is the ballot for voting for your favorite meatball.\n\nIf you bought tickets from the Chamber\, be sure to bring them with you.\nIf you ordered tickets online\, when you arrive for dinner stop by the desk at the door to pick them up.\nTickets are now available at the Ocean Community Chamber of Commerce (1 Chamber Way\, Westerly RI 02891) – see their web site for hours  SOLD OUT\n\nPurchase Tickets\n  \n\nMenu\nSalad\nBread\nPasta with sauce\n(3) meatballs\, one from each sponsor\nDessert\n\nNote: Each meatball will have a small green\, white\, or red colored flag.  The ballot half of your ticket contains a list of the 3 colors.  Be sure to select your favorite meatball by circling the color of the flag it came with\, and submitting your vote at the ballot box before you leave.
