Lecture: Ashley Turney “Travels through Tuscany”
November 16 @ 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM
Tuscany is wildly popular for Italians and foreigners alike and for good reason: stunning landscapes, a fascinating history, world renowned wines and delicious food are all married together in a setting that can make you feel like you are living in a fairy tale.
Tuscany is characterized by rolling hills, vineyards, olive groves, and picturesque medieval towns. The region boasts a diverse landscape that ranges from the rugged mountains of the Apennines to the serene coastlines along the Tyrrhenian Sea. While the superstars of Tuscany are Florence, Siena and the Chianti region, Ashley Turney, “L’Esperta” will take us on a journey through beautiful images and stories to all the corners of this magical region, from the southern Val d’Orcia, to the western coastline, from the wild farmland of the Maremma to the elegant towns of Lucca and Arezzo and beyond. You won’t be able to help falling in love and you will be booking yourself on the next flight to Florence!
Note: All lectures in the lecture series hosted by the Dante Society of Westerly are live events only and are not recorded. They are neither streamed online nor available afterwards as recordings.
Lectures are free and open to the public.
